Broadcast Date: May 5, 2006

The first broadcast (podcast) of the Gooodness Soundsystem on Gooodness Radio by founder Nomsta*. This 72 minutes mix begins with a vibey track called “The Ghetto” by the late 70s soul legend Donny Hathaway singing to a live audience. That kickstarts a journey through House music influenced by jazz, funk, soul, disco, afrobeat, dancehall, rock, electro and samba.

'Lovin' In The Ghetto' features tracks by nu jazz heroes King Kooba, UK's Bent, M.I.A. voicing out to the world, live soulful House band Tortured Soul, Riton and US House producers The Pound Boys. It's a dedication in saving the soul of House music.

Comments:

"Although the set is basically surrounding the 4x4 sound, I like to keep my style highly eclectic by throwing in bits of jazzy elements, surely with a heavy dose of funk and a continuously dope bassline. Mixing old tracks like "The Ghetto" with fresh tracks of today traces the development of dance music through the years. It's all about goood funky music everyone can enjoy, simple as that. So come groove with us."
